i'm considering a ssangyong rexton for my next 4x4 to tow, go shooting and commute with....
anyone have any good or bad reviews of them pls...

My friend has one, she tows the horsebox, her hubby tows motorcross bikes. They have chunky tyres and it copes well with mud, tracks & fields.
If you are looking to commute also, have you considered the Kia Sorento. We have one of them and it fits the bill well for towing and mud, but it's that bit more economical for everyday driving.

hummm... had not thoguht of the kia.... thank you - will have a look
also considering the land cruiser - but you get a 2x the age and 3x the milage for the same cost as a ssangyong

We have a Cherokee Jeep ( think it the Pioneer) Pulls three tons, looks good, true off roader, loads of space in the back, fairly good on diesel 28mpg. Bought it for £6,000! 3.5 years old!

You might be pleasantly surprised then - the Kia is much cheaper than them both
It got whattowcar of the year a few years running too.
