where i can get a dog we had one when i was growing up and really would like another as they are lovely dogs does anyone know where i can look or any shelters that may have one thanks

I got mine from the Wardana kennels.

There are lots of breeders out there, unfortunately many of them breed anything with anything, resulting in very poor quality dogs, they all look lovely as pups, but as they mature you can really see the weaknesses.

I went to see quite a few pups before getting mine, did a lot of research and eventually decided that I was better off paying more and getting a well put together dog, than say paying £600 and getting something which is going to most likely have problems!

Mary Ellen at Wardana is lovely, and puts restrictions on breeding on any pupthat is sold, so people cant just breed the dog with anything and register it.

Im a firm believer in that breeding should only be done to improve the breed, if iI ever get another St B, it would be from a breeder like her.

Her dogs are more expensive, I paid £1200 for mine, but they are worth it.

This is my boy, he is 3 in jan:

There is a St B rescue, and there are always older dogs needing new homes advertised on adtrader an various sites, mainly because people se this cute pup and want it, then when it turns into a 14stone dog that costs more than a horse to feed and insure, and needs training, they dont want to know!
