Hi

As the title says really.
I keep my girl on matting with shavings, which is mucked out daily,by way of taking poo and all wet out but there is still a smell of ammonia, i have heard someone mention before on a thread that they put something down for this (cant remember anymore than that LOL).

So can anyone recommend what i can use for this problem of strong smells?
Much appreciated

I have just started using stablezone- seems to work- less smelly and not so damp... Only put it down where she tends to pee. Havent been giving my horse her horse ball as i'm not so sure how safe it would be if she ate some of the granules though!

In the summer if I need to wash out stables I use Jeyes fluid. In the winter, when it is unlikely to dry quickly I use Jeyes Powder. I think they call is 'Fresh Bin', it's used to freshen up dustbin. I sprinkle it on the wet patches & leave for a while then later broom it up. I think it's about £1.00 a tin & lasts ages.

I have found Stablezone good. Put it down where he pees on his mats and then cover over with shavings.

I don't worry about his snack ball as this is eaten at the front of the stable and he pees at the back, plus all the powder is covered by shavings.
