I'm looking for a certain type of leg wraps to go under stable bandages..

They are lightly quilted, and uber long.. you roll them up almost like a bandage themselfs, wrap them around the leg several times, then bandage ontop.

Any ideas who might sell them?
I've tried prem.equine and ebay so far.. no joy..

Pillow ones i guess.. tho not too thick, would rather they were longer than thick, as feel if they were too thick, they would cause pressure points/wouldn't mould to the leg so easily..

I already have the climate ones, made by Eskadron, which i love, but don't feel they are quite so right for continued stable use.. unless i'm wrong on that one?? I do like the way they fit!!!

Thanks for the link.. as they are not the ones.. but that site does sell what i'm after!!
woop woop, i think these are the ones..
anyone used them??

Those are more like the ones I have! Your searching was better than mine! I used them over night fairly long term last year after a minor leg injury, they wash up ok but you can't wash them that hot so they do get quite stained. They didn't mark the legs or leave that "bandaged" look on legs but they were only used over night.

One of my specialist subjects! :D

Bandaging is serious business in North America and everyone has their favourite combination of bandages and "cottons". I only brought my essential tack so was quite alarmed when I got here and realised there was nothing like the variety and people still mainly used the gamgee and foam squares which seem to attract every morsel of shavings etc. ;) Anyway, I ended up "importing" "No Bows" as above, and another type closer to the quilted cotton ones above, but thicker and longer, in a couple of different sizes. They are fab and, tbh, what I'm used to.

So yes, used them for decades. :)

You'll find them quite puffy to start but they'll "pack" fairly easily while you wrap (I do find you have to roll them to put them on as they're too thick/long to do any other way.) Also, a wash or two will flatten them a bit, then they're easier to work with. I also made a habit of wrapping over the back, bottom edge with the bandage so they edge doesn't get stained/damp but that's just being picky.

Most people use them with very wide, long, semi-stretchy nylon bandages which also don't seem to be popular here, but it makes a very neat, fairly firm bandage with little chance of wrinkling, tight spots etc.

Well it's only ever USA/Oz types i've seen useing these wraps.. i do like the idea of them for using over longer periods of time, ie at night in the stable..
I do have some very old stretchy type bandages.. they really are quite old now, and were designed to be used over the old porter boots XC, which no one uses any more, or probably even remembers? They might be good to use ontop of these wraps...
Will ring and order tomorrow

I remember porter boots, but then I'm old. ;) I suspect the bandages you're talking about would be what I would call "Saratoga bandages" - do they have sort of rubbery lines in them?

Any bandage will do, obviously. The nylon ones are just light, hold their stretch and shape, easily cleaned and come in lots of colour. I'm sure it's fashion as much as anything.

One place I worked, that had 50 odd show horses, used to buy huge rolls of sort of stretchy sweatshirt type material and we cut it into bandage width lengths. Matching wraps for 50 horses, cheap and easily replaced if one got wrecked.

The NoBows and similar last forever - I've certainly seen people use them almost every day for years and years. You can bleach them, by the way, to keep them white, just be sure to rinse well.

I've got long bandage pads like these which I really like, and they're not quilted, don't have lines going downwards either, which I like because I'm paranoid about any lines at all across the tendons. I can't remember where I bought them but I'll check them for a name. They are available over here, definitely.

Have already ordered them.. also ordered the extra wide and long bandages that are ment to go with them...

The ones i was on about would be the old school Saratoga ones, without the gell strips on the inside... but i've been looking for the Saratoga ones everywhere, and they do them too.. might wait till the next order for them..
