Thoughts on this?
My mare is arthiritc with various other problems in the fronts and feeling it now the temperature has dropped, she has gone a bit creaky and seems a bit stiff (she is on joint supplement) She is stabled at night and out in the day.
So I have started bandaging the fronts with gamgee and fleece bandages to try and keep the warmth in, vet agreed also that this is a good idea.

There seem to be mixed reviews on the subject of stable bandages so just wondered if anybody had any advice?

I used to bandage my arthritic mare overnight in her stable but it is time consuming and then I'd panic that I'd bandaged too tight or too loose. I converted to thermatex stable wraps and have never looked back. So easy to put on/take off, no worrying if too tight and they keep her legs warm but never too hot. Brilliant things

I'd do the same in your situation. I'm not mad keen on supporting legs when they don't need it, long term I think it weakens them. But if she has arthritis, that's different to bandaging up a healthy youngster long term. Only problem I have with bandages is when not done well, if you have any doubts get your vet or an experienced friend to check.

Thanks for all the input, once I have saved up a bit I will definitely get some leg wraps as they do look much better! I also worry I have done them too tight/too loose, even after an experienced bandager checked them over and said they were perfect! They were tight enough to hold in place, but loose enough to get a finger down, Which I was always taught was the best way to check they were correct?
And I figured with the gamgee underneath it will at least even out the pressure! :)
