Had to get the vet out to my girl last week as her hind leg (which she had injured a few weeks ago and appeared to have recovered) was swelling up. The vet diagnosed a touch of lymphangitis, and gave her antibiotic and anti inflammatory injections which seem to have sorted it. However he has recommended bandaging her hind legs when stabled overnight. Having read a thread on here a couple of days ago I'm not too sure about doing this long term. Her legs are really hot in the morning when I take the bandages off. Has anyone else on here had this problem and what did you do?

You could use tubigrips instead. They offer compression but much thinner, so allow heat to escape. If horses legs sweat the skin can get problems over time.

Hind legs often swell in the stable because they are further from the heart, so circulation is lower compared to the front legs.

thanks for your reply teddyt. Could I use human tubigrips or is there an equine version? I have a supply of the human kind (inherited from my dad who suffered from cellulitis and leg ulcers).

Yes, human ones. Just make sure they arent too small though! Aim for some compression but not too much, same as bandaging.
