Stable bandages?

bandages are better if u can do them properly and ur horse copes with them

boots are better if like my horse yours prances round and thinks their going traveling everytime bandages come out

I am crap with bandages so prefer boots. Have some lovely ones with velcro attached padding that you can take out and wash, can't remember the make and they are down the yard so can't check sorry

I use magnetic wraps by Aerborn and they reduce my mare's hinds over night filling really effectively. More expensive in the short term but so much easier than bandaging. Anything that encourages circulation improvement in her back legs is gold in my books!

Thermatex stable wraps - easy to put on, stay in place, can't over tighten them and can even be put on wet/muddy legs!

I really fancy these but do they not slip down? I imagine they'd have to be pretty tight at the top to stop them from slipping down the leg in the night.

I have the thermatex leg wraps and they do slide a little but not too far. Sometimes use bandages which dont move at all but dont always have time to put these on.
Have also used the equilibrium ones in the past which i liked but horse trashed them easily.

i have the equilibrium wraps and have used the thermetex too - great if your horses legs are wet/muddy as wick the moisture away. Like both and only had a problem with slipping when i hadn't done the bottom strap up properly :o

I use the equilibrium stable chaps. Love love love them! Stop my lads legs filling overnight and they dry them really well when wet.

I did need to use bandages and gamgee earlier this week (as the OH decided to turn him out in his stable boots) but they are way too fiddly for me to go every night when I have an eager beaver horse wanting his dinner!

I've got the polypad wrappa things, i got 4 off ebay for £10.50 and they're brilliant. I thought they would slip down and fall off but they stay on well, also no marks where they've been on (which ive seen with some stable wraps).

I do bandage sometimes (if wraps are being cleaned) and i like really elasticated bandages, the thermatex ones are also good. Aerborn are your best for elasticated ones, i usually spend half an hour in the shop pulling them to see how they stretch, i wouldnt bother with any fleece type ones, they just end up ripping and have no give
