Hi my horse has recently been getting wee cuts and skinning herself a bit in her stable When getting up and down was considering stable boots? To help protect her legs? Anyone used them before they any good?
I’ve moved her into a field now so there’s no hard surfaces just not sure

Hi there. I think that instead of buying boots you might like to buy rubber matting or make your bed a bit thicker.
Either of these would be better than boots as boots can overheat the tendons if you are not careful.

Is she very old? Is she having problems getting up or lying down, if so maybe she should be evaluated by the vet, its not normal for horses to injure themselves unless they are struggling for some reason. She might just be a bit stiff with arthritis and a bit of bute might help her joints?

She was moved temporarily from her matted stable to a big shed she has a thick straw bedding but seems to be deciding to lay on the cement which is where she’s hitting her legs her stable should be ready to go back into by end of the week was just looking for a temporary solution as she doesn’t like being out at night

in that case if its only for a few days any boots would be suitable I would have thought.

I used Bioflow boots for my previous horse as they helped a lot with general movement and warmth and would be suitable for your horse if you have £70 to spend.
