So what does everyone use?

I have rubber mats down with a shavings bed on top. I take up the mats every couple of weeks and disinfect underneath both for hygiene and odour. I always used Jeyes fluid which kept fresh for ages and wasn't too strong itself. The new formula though makes little difference so what else can I try?

I want something to disinfect, reduce odour and but not be so powerful that its no good for the horses breathing.

I always used Black's Agricultural Disinfectant when I lived in England. Either that or Virkon. I personally wouldn't use a household disinfectant in stables but plenty people do.

Edited to say; Blacks does have a very strong smell for a day or two though, so perhaps this isn't the one for you.
