Stable floor gradient

We have a barn at our new property that we want to build some stables inside. The floor where the stables will go has a fall, towards the door, of just over 4% (15cm over 3.5m). I have read that ideally the gradient is 1.5-2% to allow drainage but not cause joint/tendon issues from horses standing on a slope for long periods. We have lots of land so horses will be out more than in (stabled at night in winter and if very hot in summer). My question is: do we need to re-lay the floor with a shallower slope or, in a large stable with space to move around will a gradient of 4-4.5% be ok? Thanks
