Stable flooring...

Has anyone used limestone?
If so what type...?!
Been suggested that I level a dirt barn floor for stabling with limestone but its a limestone jungle out there and wondered if anyone knows what type or can give me any more info on it - have found chippings from 10 - 20mm - anyone know if that would work?
its for a horse to stand on obviously, was thinking with mats eventually when its level

i think i'd look into the fieldguard mats with the mesh underneath, the 2-level draining system, i've always thought they look great, and i think you can put them on top of earth/hardcore/stones/whatever.

we used about 12 inches of harcore with 4 inches of compacted chalk and porus rubber mats on top. works fine!
