One of my horses broke his stable guard. Can't repair it as chain broke just where it enters the rubber. Decided to get a replacement, should be easy shouldn't it? No it isn't, not all stable doors are the same size so most important thin is the length, mine hasn't got a standard door, it's larger. So many sellers, websites etc do not bother to put the length in the advert. Many just seem to put "one size" in the advert. Why don't sellers think of what they would want to know when they place the advert. Such a simple thing to buy you would think but it isn't!

I just put bailing twine on one end if it's not long enough and it also gives it a break point if needed - although I do tend to go for a relatively strong bit so it doesn't break too easily.

There would probably be other things you could use that might look a bit smarter than bailing twine but it does solve the too short issue. If it's too long then attach the clips to links closer to the rubber :)

I am with you on the size question generally. It is amazing how many horsey products are one size in one brand and then 3 or 4 size options for another brand, for what essentially looks like the same thing

Just buy some carabiners off ebay. They are only about 40p each and then you can add them to the chain to make it long enough
