I was wondering if there's such thing as equine claustrophobia, or if anyone has any ideas as to what could be causing my loan pony's stable hatred...
She loves feed:pBut even if her feed bucket is in there she goes half way through the door then spins and drags you out:confused:
She dragged me all the way over the yard today and was refusing point blank to stop, and after this i brought her back round for take two, same thing, the third time she wouldn't even set foot inside, just planted her feet and refused point blank to go inside?
Her stable isn't too small and she has hay and water and everything she needs, she just doesn't like it:confused:
She doesn't seem to be afraid of it, her ears are never back and she is alright when inside, although she's constantly got her head over the door:rolleyes:
I though maybe it could just be boredom, but just wonder if there could be any serious reason, I'm going to buy a couple of stable toys anyways, but thought I'd ask here for another opinion:D:p

Thanks for the ideas! As far as I know she's never had a bad experience:confused:
And that's a really good point, never seen how she is with other stables, maybe I could ask my friend if I could just make an attempt at putting her in her horses stable just to see how she is:D

My lad hates being in, no obvious reason for it but will bang doors, stand on gates, generally make a nuisance of himself, we put a bar across and opened his door, he pushed the bar up, so we pinned it, actually, thinking about it, my lad is just a totally bolshy s#d, he did the same to field gates when he wanted in.
I remember moving to a house with our own stables, went round to the yard one morning to find the workmen fixing the yard gate, with my lad supervising, realising i had left him stabled the night before, he had only kicked his door off it's hinges, luckily the workmen were already on site

My previous horse did this, we decided it was because he got left on his own when in his stable and didn't like being in there, moved him to another stable and he was fine, another theory was that his stable was a corner one and he didn't like the claustrophobia.
