Hi all
i am currently doing up some old stables and hay barn. Both are in reasonable condition however need some tlc eg. Hay barn needs sides put on it and water proofing and some sort of floor put down (just a tin shed at mo!) and stables need new doors, roof and internal panels replaced as mouldy

Basically before we had it the yard was left and now needs everything but wondering if anyone has any money saving ideas for repairs?

If you have any building sites near to you then they will probably have pallets by the 100 which they usually burn. Offer to take them away. Free wood once you have taken them to bits. Re-use hinges and bolts on old doors if they are still in working order. Maybe a quick paint job when it gets a bit drier would solve your mould problems, cheap enough. Scan local papers for free ads. Shed to take away etc. Useful stuff to upcycle. Good luck and don't forget the before and after pictures.

Thank you! Yes shall get some pictures up! Have a few pallets but going to get a few more for barn flooring & fencing repairs!

Always on gumtree looking for freebies! Pulling the old shed down as collapsed so will use the dry wood from that too! Had a chest freezer last week free for rugs etc. I'm a ****** for a bargain ;)

We repaired doors by replacing small planks oftongue and grove rather than new doors! Also found corrugated roofing that was really good price because it was a cancelled order and already cut to size, OH made it fit!
