I'm having massive issues with the yard I'm currently at so i'm looking to move.

Any area of Greater Manchester is good as there really aren't many available stables out there- have been looking for months!
Distance isn't the biggest issue, although I don't drive I will look to rent as close as possible when my mare has settled:)

I'd prefer DIY as I've had my share of interfering yard staff!

So if anyone has room for a little one (14h Arab mare) please do let me know :)

Hi, thanks for your reply! I know it's huge but I have been picky and have gotten nowhere as everyone either just does full livery or i've been put on another waiting list. I'm going to have to get my horse settled then move myself to wherever she is:)

Yes, I'm adding Dean Valley to the list, quite like the look of that one:) I've heard there's a few in Didsbury, does anyone know anything? I've googled and googled so I think it's a case of who you know :p

Hi,

I have been looking around as I want to move my horse to a new one, so I will give you my thoughts on the ones I have seen and know of.

http://www.lumbbrooklivery.co.uk/ seems really good, onsite instructor who knows what they are doing. Good quality arena and jumps.

Dean Valley - had great facilities but seemed to be overcrowded. Only had a glance but could be wrong.

North Chesire Equestrian centre - long waiting list but really liked the facilities and lady who runs it. Excellent arena surface but is a riding school so the indoor will be taken up the majority of the time but the outdoor was amazing.

Lower Dale - great for happy hackers, arena needs work and not ideal for jumping and hazardous to get too though. It has great stables and yard is clean but there is allot of horses per field.

Ashton Hall - seemed really nice people but outdoor arena surface needs work and turnout.

Beeston Park farm in Marple - similar to Lumbrook but without the onsite instructor. I have heard no bad reports about this yard and arena surface was great and has an indoor too. I really liked the owner; she seemed honest and straight forward.

Hope the above helps. I know its a personal choice depending on what you want to accomplish and do but my favorites are Lumbbrook, North Chesire Equestrian and Beeston.

Wishing you the best of luck with your search.

The ones in didsbury are private yards but most do take liveries. My frind found a stable there by taking a walk down fairy lane in sale and knocking on every door!

Forthed DO NOT TOUCH ASHTON HALL all though to be honest I would stear clear of any yard with more than 15 horses on it these days . Saying that I'm pretty sure the hacking round sale is hard to beat. I'd give my money to valley thomas in sale if she is still there , shes the lovely side of bonkers which is much preferable to the other side
