Although the herd live out 24x365 we have just built stables for occasional use (eg when one of them needs respite from the midges).

We've used Horsemat Ltd a few times for anti poaching mats for the field shelters & grass mesh and been very pleased with their products and service. But then we have nothing to compare with.

So rather than just going straight to them I wondered if anyone had any suggestions re best type of stable mat and supplier.

Thanks

do a search on ebay and just get the basic black mats with bobbles on the top side and lines/gullies underneath. you can get some good deals from there.

Or buy cow mats - as long as they have a good 'tread' pattern on them.

I've heard these can be quite slippery to horses though

I love my Equimats; you don't even need to use any bedding at all; if you ask you will normally get a discount and they will fit for free!
