I just put one up for my horse, shes a 3 1/2 yr old who was unhandled before I got her and lived out in a herd, so in the 7months I've owned her shes never been too keen on the stable and had started to box-walk. Well, she thought it was great at first, but now just keeps giving me reproachful looks-as if to say 'yes thank you, that other horse can leave now!' (btw-its only been up about 2 hours!). Shes still out at night, in for 2 hrs in the day, so will see how she gets on with it tomorrow, if anyone else has got one what did their horse think first time they got introduced?

i always wondered whether they work... we have one who goes ballistic on his own (and we only have 2 and only 1 rider atm) he canters round his box, or threatens to jump fences if you turn him out..... have thought about stable mirrors and radios, but not willing to take the plunge if we don't know if its going to work.

My horse looked at hers, puffed and never looked at it again

I got one off ebay for my lad in the trailer, seems to help him quite a lot. I am going to get one for the stable as he goes bananas if I ride either of the other two, and he kicked a hole in the stable wall last time he was left on his own. Half of me says let him get on with it, but the other wants him to be ok about being left. Although I do think his behaviour is less about seperation and more indignation!!!!

Mine spent hours whickering and doing little squeals at it, then licked it all over, then scratched it all with his teeth, then weaved madly in front of it!

This lasted the first few days, then he must have cottoned on that it was a con, and now totally ignores it.

I think many people find it really helps though, but it didn't with mine.

Q/R
I use them in my trailer- first time he saw it he decided he quite fancied the 'pretty boy' but now he just looks at it now and again and pulls a face as if to say 'well, why isn't it moving' and then ignores it! He does still quite fancy the pretty boy!
