I've got the Lincoln Mirror and that came with rather specific instructions as to where it should go. Apparently they did rather alot of research into it and it should be away from where they feed and drink and they should be able to choose if they want to use it, ie don't put it in the place where they always stand.

I've got mine on the right wall, about half way along and that seems to work really well for my mare. When she's in and not eating/sleeping, she will spend most her time next to it.

I have two (my mare is very spoilt and I got then cheap on ebay!!) anyway I have one in back right corner (feed manger is in back left corner opposite door, haybar in front right corner & water to right of door) and other one to left of door door. My mare prefers the one at the back of the stable, but judging by the slobber uses then both. All info I have read states that mirrors shouldn't be place near food/water if possible.

Yep, my daft mare thinks she has a whole herd in her stable!!!! and they all look just like her.

Stable mirrors have apparently been proved to reduce stable vices in some horses (my mare has never had any stable vices, so can't confirm this). I think this is purely due to the horses thinking they have company, thus are less stressed.

i am going to invest in one this week as my boy is on box rest and by the state of his bed i think he has been box walking a bit, he is a very friendly horse so would probably love the company! where did everyone get theirs from? how much?
