Half and half. Much nicer for horses IMO, and better airflow overall!!

The best ones i have ever seen are half wall half grill, but with a sliding door/shutter thing so that fussy or agressive horses can be closed in. its probably a much more expensive option though.

We have all types on our yard. My preference is for walls between horses to be sold but the fronts half wall half bars. I tend to find that the horses squabble a lot more with just bars, plus one of mine likes a bit more privacy, they can still sniff each other if one looks over the door and the other moves into the corner. Saying that our boxes will full walls between are in a very high airy building so air flow is not a problem.

having been in a yard recently with grills between the horses I would personally go for full walls. There were a few seriously stressed horses who couldn't settle to eat as they were worried about the horses next to them. They were kicking out and turning and lunging at their neighbour. Needless to say the boxes were getting damaged. Also have seen an incedent where a horse kicked out, got it's foot caught between the bars and fell to the floor smashing an eye socket. THe vet said he had seen this type of accident several times and would prefer not to see the bars between horses. Would point out that the gap between the bars appeared far too small to get a foot through - the powere behind the kick forced the foot through. The bars had to be sawn off

Ours are half and half, but the bars are set zig zag (and they can slide out) so you can fit boards between them if a horse needs to be closed off.

i would say full boards, due to some mares hating being near one another, some horses like their own space etc, if full it wouldnt matter what liveries you took on. It may also put some potential clients off if the horses can see each other fully? Plus health reasons. As well as health and safety regarding people in the stable with a horse, some horses may get jealous if their human is with them and their neighbour is looking in? just silly things like that.
