hi everyone, need some advice i have a 16.1 Belgium Warmblood and i need to know what size stable he should be in the one i have been offerd is in a barn so its high its about 12x12 do you think its big enougth for him
yes, 12 x 12 is fine (measure it though, lots of people claim they're that big but they're not). is he the sort to get cast easily though (i.e. daft, with no idea of his size?) if so, bigger might be better... although some people think they can be worse in bigger stables as they roll more energetically and are more likely to try to flip over, and get cast!
i recently moved from a 14 x 12 to a 12 x 12 stable. The 12 x 12 is sufficient, but it makes quite a bit of difference where you put water and hay. I have them along 1 side of the stable, so I've then essentially lost 2' on 1 side. when she's eating her hay I can only just squeeze round her bum. The stable is in a better "location" but apart from that would have stayed in the bigger stable.
