Is it correct that the average size stable for any horse is 12x12?
So that should mean that any size horse fits in it?
Or what would be the biggest height and breed that you would stable in it?

Think im just being a little paranoid for when my new horse comes!
Thanks

Mine's in a 12 x 12, he's 16.2 ID x TB ands he's fine

anything over about 16hh used to get the bigger stables - which were really big cos they were old stone ones. If I had a choice and owned anything over about this I think they would be more comfortable in a bigger stable so they can move round comfortably. As it is my biggest is a 15.1 skinny so quite happy in a 12x12

it's the usual size, yes, and okay for most. must admit, i don't like putting anything bigger than 17h ish in a 12 x 12, especially if they're gangly and have no spacial awareness. since having huge stables (one at 12 x14, 2 at 15 x 15)i haven't had one get cast, touch wood... they keep them a lot cleaner too!
how big is your new horse?

My 16.3hh is in a 10 x 10 stable and he loves it. Only downside is that it is so small he has to come out of it to muck out. It keeps incredibly warm though and he is quite happy to be in there 24 7!!
