My horse has many months of box rest ahead, so was looking for things to keep him busy 9he is young and trashes everything in reach when bored. He loves chewing things and ages age i saw one called a pas-a-fier, which was rotating rubber wheels in a corner bracket to play with. I'm sure I saw one in an english catalogue, but now I can only find them in america - did I dream it?

i do remember robinsons used to do something called a pas-a-fier! don't think they do now though.. when my old loan pony strained his tendons we strung up some carrots and apples on a piece of string and hung it up, kept him happy for hours! when his tendons were rested a bit more we gave him a decahedron snack ball thingy which we filled with high fibre cubes, he settled well with this! i have also heard good things about boredom breakers and tongue twisters from likit though, but i didn't like the sound of the extra sugar from them - he was fizzy enough! a jolly ball helped with my friend's stressy welsh, he tried everything to destroy it! hope this helps xx

i remember the pas-a-fier, definitely!
umm, stable ball thing (big squishy ball with handle) goes down well with some of them. mirror is worth its weight in gold imho. umm, hanging an old pillow up from a beam at horse's back height is good, they'll push it around, rub on it, etc, good for getting them used to the idea of things above them too, ready for ridden work.
i've hung plastic bottles up, some trash them, so take tops off!
classic fw on the radio goes down well...!

I think the bottles will definately be useful - a bit of blue peter-ing for me this weekend I think!
Bit worried about pillow and mirrors - He has destroyed all the lagging on the water pipes over his head, destroyed a light switch, chewed a sign off the wall, eaten a leadrope...... need I go on!!
Surprisingly its not his stomach that is the problem!!!
