I need some help. A friend of mine is wanting to find a yard to take on that has 10+ stables and grazing, does anyone have any ideas where she can look on the internet for such places.

I have done some looking but without much success.

Any ideas would be great.

These are very hard to come across I know a friend of mine is also looking, some areas have more than others. Try horse websites - horsemart, horsequest, horsedeals also could try estate agents?

I have also been looking (provisionally

) around and was told that you can sometimes find interesting ads on the following websites/sources:
http://www.friday-ad.co.uk/Class/224/Web/SearchResults.asp
Government websites (county, districts councils);

Classifieds section in local papers/agricultural papers/local websites (like this one: http://cheshire.adzooks.co.uk/for-sale/other/stables-to-rent-full-part-242688.html)

http://www.horsehunter.co.uk/livery-yards-c-89.html

You may also want to look at this one but it might be to big(?) for your friend: http://www.ukclassifieds.co.uk/livery_yard_for_rent-o121681.html

AND I guess the best way is to talk about your plans to as many people as possible i.e. various forums (horsey and similar) might be useful.
Good luck to your friend!

From experience yards like this tend to be taken on word of mouth. It might be an idea to drive round, visit everyone with horses and see who knows who.

We found ours by contacting local farmers to see if they were looking to diversify. All it will cost you is a few stamps...
Another good way is via word of mouth at the local tack shops. the ones around us seem to know everything that is going on in the local area

The yard I keep my horse at has a number of empty stables that used to be rented as a job lot to someone who ran her business from them. Is this the kind of thing you are looking for?

Sorry taken so long to reply, I forgot my password!!!!

Yeah that is the sort of thing she is looking for.

It seems a lot of people are turning stable blocks into offices and things as is a better financially.
