Righto, i have a dilemma at the stables!! Need your help!! x I have two horses
Scirocco
Just had an operation to de-nerve her back legs so on box rest for 6 weeks
Can be mare-ish
Happy in or out alone or with others

Can't be left on his own in a field or stable where he can't see other horses
Can get mud fever on one foot

At the moment scirocco is in a stable on her own, and Billy is in a pen (designed for cattle) with a shelter.
Ideally i'd like two stables next to each other, away from everyone else. I want them to be able to see each other so that i can bring them in together, leave them out etc without having to worry that billy is left in a stable and cant see another horse. (he will rip the door off otherwise!!)
I am now on the top of the list for the next free stable, these are my options:
1) Scirocco keeps her stable where it is and Billy goes in a stable the other side of the yard in his own stable.
2) A pen with stable is free, would have to keep them both in the same one as they are designed for two horses. The stable is about 15ft x 14ft and the wandering about bit is about the same. With this they could choose if they want to be in the sheltered 'stable' part or wander in the 'pen' section so its not as restricted and they can get out of each others way if need be! x The pen is quite far from the hay and straw but is next to the muck heap. There is also a girl 3 pens away i'm abit wary of but i dont see her there very often anyway x
3) Two stables next to each other may become available - not 100% sure yet, but they are smaller stables. they are part of a set of 4 stables under a sheltered barn which is not far from my current tack room, hay/straw or the muck heap. They are a a bit closer to 'everyone' (i like to stay out of the way and do my own thing!)
What stable's would you go for? X I get on with everyone but i'd prefer to be out the way. With the pen/stable my horses will share together but would be concerned about the pen section bars in case either horse kicked out and got it legs stuck in the bars (dont think this has ever happened to any horse there but scirocco being marish could kick out initially)
Also aware if scirocco still needs box rest sharing isnt ideal but pen and stable can be cut off from each other - but then one would be stuck outside!! x
