Hi, was just wondering what others pay for a groom to come am and muck out 5 horses on straw, feed, water and leave feeds ready for evening stables, sweep up, may be turn out one or two in arena to stretch legs, and how long it would take please. I am looking for some one, and they could keep there own here too.

I allow 20-30min per horse to check over straighten rugs turn out, high standard muck out, clean fill water, prep feed, hay net and sweep around front of stable depends on yard set up how close thigns are together if can do pile of haynets at once, easy water access, distance to fields etc. I Would say 3hours should be plenty to do a very through job but could easily be done in 2 if right set up. for freelance I would expect £8-10 per hour depending on location and amount of hours per week, obviously oig getting livery in exchange, then deduct accordingly dependent on facilaties offered and if your including hay straw etc and offering to look after the horse when her days off

Too far out for me to freelance am afraid would be a 60mile round trip, have you tried yard and groom, I get most of my work through there and should be able to find someone easily to help
