I've decided I'm going to get my girl one, as in the 6months I've had her shes done very well getting used to being in a stable, spending up to 8 hours in there with friends either side (from being untouched 3 year old from herd), but she isn't terribly happy all the time, and I don't think she could handle being alone, if the other 2 had gone for a hack or something and she had to stay in, So I've just looking on ebay for 'stable mirrors' and 'perspex mirrors' anything without the mention of horse is alot cheaper! Does anyone know if somewhere like B&Q or some sort of big DIY shop sells the stuff, as you must be able to buy it somewhere? thanks

I used one whilst my horse recovered from surgery. I would strongly advise only using ones designed for stables, I know they are expensive however whilst I was up at Newmarket they told me of a horse that had cracked a perspex one and sliced its cheek open.

Also be prepared that not all horses like them, my gelding was aggressive towards it and it had to be taken down. However my mare loved it and was very happy with it.
Good luck!

My boy loves his mirror he stands beside it when he is in and thinks his stable friend is very handsome. I got one when he was recovering from surgery and it's the best thing I've bought him really works keeps him calm

Ours is a large piece of polished stainless steel, and it came from a cpy that manufactures commercial style kitchens. It was waste for them as slightly scratched on one side, and only cost about £20.
Wouldn't be without it for my box-walking TB mare.
