I got Buster a staffy x (possibly a boxer) in October of last year, he is a total poppet in every respect and his behaviour since I got him has improved no end but he HATES the rain, to the point where he tries to drag me back inside, so after a winter a trying to persude him with treats/his favourite toy I had little success, sadly I doubt he's had a great start in life could this be whats causing his anxiety?

Poor little (ok not so little) is only around a year and a half so when he point blank refused to go out I had a very hyper dog.

Anyone got any ideas?

Normally he loves to run around in the park with other dogs but in rain he doesn't want too know.

I know it's not winter anymore but I'd love some ideas in preparation for it as no doubt (i'm in the UK) we'll have some rain before hand.

Lol....I doubt it has to do with anxiety, he is a single coated breed, VERY, given the 2 breeds he may be crossed with:D I have had many a rescue staffy that hated the rain,as tough as they are they are another breed that love the heat and dry, staffsactually do the worst in kennels of any breed I know, partly due to being cut off from people but secondly de to the cold conditions that come with a kennel.
I had a staff in recently that would run straight from my house to the chimnea in the garden to avoid being oin the rain:D
Could u get him a nice coat to cosy him up when going out in the rain?

I did go down the coat route with him at one point but the little monkey ripped it - could you recommend a good strong one?

Last dog I owned was a burnees mountain dog so not had much experience with dog coats :)

There are a few coat obsessers on here that can guide u to a trendy number im sure:D Gazey is one of them:rolleyes:
I don't do coats, not even for my door mouse of a whippet (im a cruel mammy) have a squizz on e.bay and maybe go for a barbour type coat they are meant to be good quality, never leave it on him when u are not there to reprimand the destruction of it..lol:D

I have 2 staffys, one which dives in the sea or the canal and loves it,but the other is an absolute girls blouse! Its a great thread as its given me some advice also, but like some have said would need a strong durable coat for my older boy.
