Hello,

My exam is coming up very soon and I am a little stuck on unit 3 b which is 'The Principles of Stabling and Grassland Care of Horses'. I am struggling to find right information for no. 3.1 which is 'Summerise current Health and Safety legislation applicable to stable yards' and no 3.2 which is 'Explain the relevant health and safety legislation' and this is actually not covered in my stage 3 books.

There is a lot of information online but I would like to know what the examiners are after for this particular section? What really are the main summarising points of the health and safety legislations and what is most relevant for health and safety legislations as per 3.1 and 3.2?

Bear in mind the two following points (3.3 and 3.4) are 'Explain the procedure to be followed in the even of a fire on a yard' and 'Explain what is meant my the term 'risk assessment' so I'm assuming that 3.1 and 3.2 are NOT referring to fire and risk assessment? Fire and risk assessments are covered extensively in the books and I'm happy with these sections, it is just the 3.1 and 3.2 I'm not sure about.

If anyone has done stage 3 recently, I would very, very much appreciate if you would please let me know how you would answer a question relating to the 3.1 and 3.1 of the syllabus (for unit 3 b)?

Many, many thanks in advance!!

Just have a look at H & S At Work (1974) as applies to employers/employees engaged in keeping and management of livestock. Things like safe work conditions, taking reasonable care, health and safety, risk assessment, insurance, correct use of equipment, first aid. Health and Safety directives and the BHS is helpful but bear in mind you only have to summarise! Hope this helps. Good luck.
