A field next to one of ours has two tiny ponies in it for about half the year. One is a stallion and a right little s***. It causes complete havoc with my three geldings. I can't use the field next to it until they are removed again in October. The woman who they belong to hires the field off a farmer for half a years grazing.

I have told her that it causes a lot of trouble but she insists because mine are geldings, there is no problem. The stallion is constantly looking for trouble, standing at the fence, neighing, rearing at the fence, getting stuck in the fence etc etc. Even though mine are a field away now, they still all gallop round like lunatics and it drives me mad!!

I know I have no right really to ask her to move it have I? Do I just have to lump it until they move again. Its like this every summer and its not a relaxing situation :@ Is there anything I can do to my boys to chill them out a bit?

As long as the stallion stays in his own field then you will just have to put up with it. If he was getting in with yours then you could complain, but as it is, live and let live.

Unless you are friendly with the farmer who owns the field and you can persuade him to find different tenants as the stallion is unsettling yours I'm not sure what you can do. Maybe long term you could plant some hedging so that they can't see each other which might help especially if they are small!

How long is the fence line ? If it's not miles could you put up tall posts and the green windbreak tight mesh fabric.
