I am told Voltaire is currently standing in NZ.
Does anyone know of any of his progeny standing in the UK or Europe.
Broodmare is a 15.2 tb, and we are looking for a h/w 17h offspring.
Is this likely from this combination.
I know its a bit of guess work, but I'll ask anyway.

Voltaire was indeed exported to New Zealand, but he died in 2004, I am assuming you are talking about using frozen semen.

There are plenty of Voltaire offspring all over the world. I am not sure you will get a 17 hand heavy weight by using him on a 15.2 TB mare.

Infact I would be surprised if you managed to get a 17h h/w out of her from any breeding, that would be safe!!!

Mine was a thoroughbred with an Arab head to look at. He was 16.3 but very, very lightweight for a warmblood. I doubt you'll get anything big or heavy out of a 15.2 mare by Voltaire. You should also note that if you get one of a TB body type you may well get some pretty sharp behaviour too, I was told that he does have something of a reputation for sharp offspring by the person who backed mine..

My Voltaire mare is lovely, she is 16.1 and quite chunky in the body compared to some, had some stunning foals

Are you sure he was exported, I'm sure when we visited Watermolen stud Jan greve showed us his grave. He died and is buried at his stud.

Oooh Jan Greve bred my horse. His damsire is Voltaire and he is by a Darco/Irco Polo stallion. He is lovely and not sharp at all he has a very Voltaire look about him he isn't big yet probs about 15.3 (only risin 6 though)
