I have just been watching the colt and the gelding play fighting and mounting each other, as they do sometimes. It has occurred to me that they are in a paddock that fronts on to the road, it's a very quiet country lane, no children's play parks/school yards etc, just one house behind some trees so nobody really to offend (and they breed dogs which are always at it)

My question is, if it was a mare and a stallion in there, as a neighbour (you would have to peer through the trees and stand out on the road) or passer-by would you be offended if you saw them in the act?

No. I never really understand the logic (or not as the case may be) of people being offended about animals bonking. Doesn't bother me in the slightest and doesn't bother any of my friends. I'd hazard a guess that people who aren't horsey would most likely chuckle if they saw them at it....so what though.

BTW - end of month is sale.

Once got a phone call from a lady whose house backed onto my field to tell me how offensive she had found the antics of my 14hand gelding and his pony friend and how it shouldn't be allowed in public. However it later transpired she had been in her bedroom with binoculars whilst their courtship(for lack of a better term!!) had been taking place and had remained there for several hours.Did point out if she found it offensive maybe she should leave the binoculars where she would be unable to find them

Doesn't bother me in the slightest! Our neighbour has a stallion and often uses the paddock next to us as a covering paddock. It has helped teach our daughter the facts of life

i remember when i was stabled at a busy riding school, my gelding and his fav mare were in one of the side sand schools. Friend and i am mucking out around the corner and having a good old natter as you do! some children came around saying 'What are William and Tia doing? we rushed round panicing that something bad had happend and he had mounted her and really thought he could do the deed bless him. i shouted his name and he got off and we just said to the children that he was playing. we were quite

about it!

to be honest - i cant see how people could complain as they are animals and have these earges (not sure thats spelt right!)!

Have a customer who has a holiday let next door to his home. The holidaymakers were most vocal in their complaints about the violent short but not sweet chicken sex outside their kitchen window! People love to see chicks running about, they seem to think that forget that immaculate conception begets everything!
