Hi, just thought it would be fun to start a thread for giving you guys updates on Stan! I think I’d also quite enjoy looking back on it in a few months time. So for those who of you who don’t know The Man, here’s a lil intro.
Stan is a six year old shetland x cob rescue with a huge amount of excess weight on him which I plan to get off over the next few weeks/months. I met him just over a year ago and fell in love, so bought him in February. Yesterday, we moved yards as the old one wasn’t quite fitting, and he’s already settled in nicely. When we loaded him, I expected him to make a huge fuss, but he walked up like a king and proceeded to stuff his face with hay!
Today, I rode him round for a little bit and even popped a little jump (and when I say little, I mean TINY!). He was really great, if a bit spooky at all the smells, and once I’d finished riding I untacked him, gave him a nice brush down and turned him out with a Clydesdale cross called Edward (only three years old, but already nearly double Stan‘s size!) and an older Welshie called Splash. He and Edward ran around a bit (think Stan was a bit intimidated!) but then Stan realised Edward only wanted to play, so they started mucking around while Splash watched while eating hay.
Tomorrow I’m going down to the yard again, so there’ll hopefully be another update then! For now, though, I’ll attach some photos of The Man himself.
(The pics were taken at the old yard- his stable is much much bigger now)
