Who ever see my ad earlier I ment standard bred horse not saddle bred horses sorry lady's.. Please tell me your info and experience tempermant of a standard bred? Thanks lady's

That's funny - I did wonder if you meant Standardbred based on your description! No experience of them personally, but have heard they have good, calm temps. I'm sure there's a few on here with them...

I have a aStandardbred .He is 11, raced in harness then retrained to ride. Lovely horse a calm nature. Good manners. Can go into race mode if in an excitable situation. He is a lovely hack now. I have spent time schooling him out on rides to make him softer in the mouth and more relaxed. I would have another. Lovely breed.

Great thanks girls.. This filly I've found is rising 2 and a real beauty.(so no chance of her being trained to race with me) just English riding .. School hack jumping. She's to be our family horse 😄 I'm excited now I know others know and like the breed too 😄 Just needed to know they was sane sensible and not like typical hot headed tb!!

I have a standardbred gelding had him from 4 years old easy to do unfortunately a very good doer but wouldn't change him for the world only problem i have is his head size lol

Haha pinball that's great news. Just what I'm looking to hear 😄.. They seem lovely. How was is your to ride ect..!

Wonderful horses - hard-working, athletic, and hard as nails. They bond deeply with people they trust and will try their hearts out for you.
The only issue I've ever noticed is that they can suffer from tunnel vision a bit and can fixate on things when you're training, so patience is needed. Can't really call that a problem though.

Great horses, 99% of the ones I have met have been pretty calm, sweet tempered, versatile animals. I have had 2 purebreds and a part-bred. Both my purebreds gaited and didn't like to canter. I know loads of people that wouldn't have any other breed and they do everything you can think of with them.

he wasnt broken in untill he was nearly 7 as he was very immature,he was broken to drive at 3 by my nephew but pinball decided that wasnt for him lol.He is a total sweetheart but like littleblackmule said can have tunnel vision.

Tunnel vision is not a problem. Once I've backed her in a couple of years. I plan to have an instructor to further both of our abilities so that's no issue!! Great inside views on your babies .. Do all of them gait? And not canter? My filly has a standard passport as parents are unknown and so I can't check out what's in her bloodlines.... thanks girls

Pinball has a rather splendid and extremely powerfull trot but can canter correctly when asked he doesn't pace at all.A picture because i wouldnt swap him for the world.

Ah wow he looks lovely! 😄 Gentel giant !! That's good news thank you. My filly is from the trotter side .. But I've been told has 3 normal lovely paces is this correct! And please explain the gait someone . As long as I can ride her English walk trot canter I'm happy. We're not going shows or comps just to be a family fur baby thank you

hi bianca mine is a trotter so really its just an extremely fast and powerful trot but he never does this under saddle only when letting loose in the field if you, you tube trotters it will give you plenty of videos lovely watching him trotting around the field showing off

That's great news thanks I can only hope for mine to end up lovely like yours I managed to add pics of the filly to my profile album of pictures if you wanted to have a look at her X

I've got a Standardbred mare, she's an absolute doll. Spooky when she was a bit younger but probably due to a rough start, now a sweetheart, beautiful loving temperament, very bonded with me but generally just loves human company. Very intelligent, fast learner, good doer, incredible movement, she was never a trained trotter where they work on the lateral paces, she moves like a normal horse..but with a lot of style.

That's great gala. Thanks very much good to hear of other mares too.. As I'm getting a filly. How was your when she was a youngster. Any advice or info. Oh how was she to back?

Me too haha I managed to add her pics tho to my profile .. Did u see would love to know if you all think she's as perfect as I think she is lol X

I commented on your other post. The boys I worked with were delightful. Tough as old boots, real workhorses, they never fussed or complained, worked really hard, lived out all year round through the NZ winter in the mountains. I don't find them particularly attractive to look at compared to my beloved TBs, Arabs and andalusians, but I did love them and found them to be wonderfully easy horses.

Yes I remember .. Try n look on my profile and see the pics of the filly if I did it right ! I think she's pretty but maybe not everyone's cup of tea

Lol maybe I did them wrong I can see them lol. Do you have face book. Message me and you can add me I'll send them through there X
