Currently enjoying some inhand showing with my 6yo however I am really struggling to get her to stand still firstly and secondly to stand in a proper show type stance.

She stands square but I cannot get her to round the neck nicely and she ends up messing around with her head and trying to nibble the handler (probably looking for treats although I don’t actually treat her by hand)
If she is treated by hand she does become very bitey and won’t respect my personal space. She also does a lot of nudging which I disclipline her for however she still tries her luck every time.

She is a general fidget at home and will paw for attention which I ignore.

I know this is basic manners but how do I actually teach her that stand means stand and also to stand properly not just in any old messy fashion!?

Thanks!

Do you have any show producers near you as could be worth having an in hand lesson - I had one with my horse and wow, the way he got him to stand up he looked just like one of those stallion adverts and really helped me with the trotting up as well. For showing they don't stand square as the side the judges are looking at should have the front leg slightly forward and the hind leg slightly back and then as the judges move round to the other side the horse is just pushed back a step or asked forward a step to then have the same stance on the new side. It is quite confusing for mine as to dressage horse halt or showing in hand halt.
