Standing martingale attachment for breastplate?

I've only found one on Ebay for £25 which seems a bit steep since it costs more than a whole standing martingale. Anyone got any ideas where I can get a cheaper one? Black cob/full size in case anyone requires a new home for theirs...

Thats what price they are, you can't really get them cheaper. I've got a lovely John Whitaker Burgundy one with elastic attachment , which is too small for my horse, JW ones retail at about £22 BN

Really? I don't think the breastplate cost that much! Yours sounds just the thing (can overlook the colour!) Interested in rehoming it for a fee?

I got one for £14 from Derby House - a Sabre one, very nice. I havent seen it in their catalogue recently but I would email Sabre. Can you ask a cobbler to make you one? I nearly asked mine to but then I found the Sabre attachment. I would sell you mine but I still have a glimmer of hope my beast will jump again!

Oooh, sounds lovely. I'll have a look. I've considered getting a saddler/cobbler to make one for me, but I'm not sure what the leather will be like!

My friend (master saddler) has made quite a few for me, as we use them with my western breastplate onto the noseband, but they have clips both ends not a leather loop. Mine cost £15 and made with english leather.

My saddler is in my bad books after my saddle went missing for a week. I might see if I can get one made up when I go to the UK in April.
