Would a horse wearing a standing martingale put you off viewing? Ive only ever used a running not really because the horse needed it just as back up.

It would depend on several things.

Firstly why the horse was wearing it in the first place

Thoughts that would be going through my head are
Does it rear?
Is it young and learning to jump?
Does it throw it's head around in transitions?
Does it have a mouth problem?
Is it being jumped in Show Hunter classes wher the standing is part of the turnout.

Then I would definately ask why, depending on the answer I'd then consider if it is what I'm after. If just learning to jump I'd be fine with it - I teach mine to jump in a standing as I don't like the action of the running on the horses mouth.

If rearing then it can stay where it is - someone else can have the fun
I'd check teeth if possible to see if sharp and would probebly consider it
