As I've said before I leave things up to mum, he was much better in the morning so she gave him some anti-biotics and his leg has gone right down now, although he's still got a lump. but he's completely sound. I'm riding him tomorrow so will probably do a little trotting and see how he copes with that.
We won't hunt till next year anyway and I'm still wondering if I should boot up or not. He's so clean and careful with his front end I don't see how knee boots would help him (because if their legs are tucked up they stick out in front anyway). Oh well, guess I've got a few months to consider!
My mare is still off after whacking her knee over christmas/new year but I'm not sure knee boots are the answer either. I will start next season with no boots and go from there! Glad Badg is on the mend
He's much better now! I plodded round on Saturday and his actual knee (the rest of his leg is normal now) went down loads. Then mum insisted I give him a bit of work and my usual "work" places involve jumping a couple of little walls and he gallops like a nutter in a slightly uncontrolled manner!!
Anyway so we did all that fine and it's getting better all the time, but it might be one of those "big knees'' that take a long time to go down. But he's not a show horse afterall!
We hit a gate. Again. fortunately we didn't somersault but it was a solid metal one not a rotten wooden one that falls over! We are not going to jump gates next season! Glad Badger is getting better!
