I have an ID/TB who is getting a bit full of himself at the moment, he's shooting off spooking, being bolshy and generally behaving like a bit of a thug, he's not usually like this! He's only in light work at the moment, he's turned out during the day. I feed him Spillers Conditioning fibre (as he'd dropped off a bit) and Allen & Page quiet mix. I thought this was all low energy etc and ok for horses in light work but someone has pointed out to me that the mix is actually high in starch, 28.0 in fact, so this could be what's causing his thuggish behaviour? Could this be it? Any advice gratefully received!

That is a very high % of starch, I'd be looking at something else that really is low, A and P Fast Fibre is 5% and the Equilibrium feeds (Winergy by Spillers) are also low and a one bag feed if you want to use them like that.

My ID crosses always tell me when a feed is too lively for them, same behaviour as yours.

I've got an ID & he's a much much nicer person on lower starch feed. I feed him Simple Systems Luciebix (dried alfalfa, nothing added), Saracen ReLeve (starch 8.5 - 12.5%) & as much hay as he can eat which seems to suit him very well. Anything containing cereals turns him into an arrogant, hairtrigger thug but barley is definately the worst as he becomes so hyper & uptight he's barely safe to handle let alone ride.
