State Diplomacy

Err, yes that sounds about right. My boy wasn't broken until he was six or seven because his breeder died and her husband left the youngsters so he has the attitude of a horse that thinks he wasn't born to work ! He is though a funny cheeky horse with bags of personality and a great temperament. He is stunningly good looking but his mum was too and I just wondered if any of his looks and jumping talent came from his dad. Ollie T didn't fare too well at Burghley on his State Diplomacy horse but it was nice to see one at that level - definite talent !

I think I am lucky with my mare....she certainly has a fearless attitude but is pretty willing and I have been told on more than one occasion that she is not true to her breeding. She is absolutely stunning and the ones I have seen are pretty gorgeous....the odd strange shaped one but I suppose it depends on the mare.

Mine was bred for showing and although she is 7/8 TB, doesnt have the classic TB shape....very deep girth, reasonably chunky for a TB and incredibly long legs. Black in winter which is true for a lot I have seen....more dark brown in summer.

I do have a claim to fame on the Burghley side....not from State Diplomacy though....her mothers sire was John O Gaunt...won Burghley in 1980.

Wow what a combination ! My boy is technically brown but just now he looks dark bay too. One of the commentators at Burghley said he throws some useful eventers and I think in the right hands he could do quite well in eventing. He has 1/4 Connemara so he doesn't look like a full TB. He has a real presence about him and demands that people look at him. I just love looking at him. As much as he's lovely to ride if someone told me he could never be ridden again I'd quite happily just have him to look at and fuss over. X

Sounds lovely!!!

my old mare was a State Diplomacy baby and she was honestly the best ever! Only got her when she was 14 but she got my confidence sky high as she was so lovely, then she had pedal bone rotations and had to be put downk RIP Maple
