Hi
This may sound like a really wierd post, but I have the Mark Todd combo fly rug, which seems great....except..
It is giving my horse horrendous static. After I take his fly rug off he seems to be like a walking ball of electricity. Every time I touch him he got an electric shock. I know the rug is 100% polyester- is this causing it and is there anything I can do? My poor horse was terrrified of me last night! He also whacked his head & grazed it on the stable door frame when he unexpectedly had a shock off me.

Anyone have any ideas please?!!

Rather than pulling the rug straight off, roll it up towards his tail. It seems to reduce the amount of static. Once you've taken the rug off, touch the floor to discharge any static on you before you touch your horse. I've had the same problem with an amigo fly rug but doing the above I no longer zap her!!
