I am looking at doing my first stay away show in the new year and was wondering if anyone had any tips or just genral experiance of keeping horses clean and calm over night away :)
I have a very messy traditional so any tips on keeping white legs white is really appreciated!
Also what bedding do you use? He has a tendency to lay down in his wee and messy straw overnight and was wondering if shavings or some form of pellets would be more absorbant? We dont mind paying more as its my biggest show yet and a hoys qualifier so need to look our best!
Its a lomg way away yet but would rather have a plan in action and try things out at home first :)
Thanks in advance!

It's best to check with the venue about bedding. I've only stayed away at the David Broome centre and they only allow shavings.
I was worried about how Pie would settle but he was fine- there is always plenty going on for him to watch. Evenings I would take him out for walkies and to pick at grass which seemed to keep him happy.
