Bit of an indulgent post really. Last night I had a go on a horse simulator called Steady Eddie. What fun!

The instructor worked on core stability and my position. It had mirrors all around so I could see what I really looked like when I ride (lumpy in cream jobs!!)

Could really see it being usefull for my riding although the lessons are a bit steeper than a ususal riding lesson.

Anyone else had a lesson on one?

Yes! His name was Mr D'Arcy - as in the perfect gentleman, I think!

Lesson was fantastic. I learnt more about my position and symmetry (sp) in one 40 minute lesson than I have in 5 years of riding lessons on my horse. It was really, really worth the money, and I have one simulator lesson once a month now, religiously and without fail, as I really rated it.

I'd love to buy a simulator, but they cost a small bomb!

Whereabouts can you get lessons on a mechanical horse? I'd like to have a go because I am doing something weird with my upper body when I canter on the right lead but I can't pinpoint exactly what I'm doing.

Thank you that's brilliant

They have one at my local equine college apparently. I was thinking about booking a lesson there soon so I will ask about it when I go up.
