I got woken up at 2am this morning by a massive thump.
Looked out of the window to see that Saffy had managed to break the hinges off the lid of the council grit bin on the other side of the fence and was busy dipping her tongue into the salt like it was a giant sherbet dip!
Now, they already have a mineral lick in the field so she shouldn't be deficient in anything like that so why she's decided to eat it out of the grit bin is anyone's guess.
However, I'm concerned that maybe the stuff in the grit bin is treated with something? I've leccy fenced the spot where the bin is now. She doesn't seem to be any the worse for it.
Does anyone know if there is anything else in the salt the councils use?
