I am so angry. Two days ago accepted an offer on our lovely 14.1 connemara pony. All there, fantastic breeding, fantastic temperment, good con. etc. exactly what buyer wanted ie; first pony prospect for all round activities. Agreed to drop the price, throw in his entire wardrobe AND deliver him (4 hour journey)!!! Today got a phone call saying she can't afford him now!!! and he's practically the cheapest con. pony on the market!!! Talk about a time waster. And yes, I held my composure and thanked her for letting me know!!!

Wow well done you for being so polite and adult about it! I always think things happen for a reason and you will find the perfect home for you pony soon.

Ughh i know its so dissapointing isn't it. Been their with a horse and a car, however it obviously was not meant to be for whatever reason and i'm sure your pony will get a lovly home soon enough, best of luck..x

im sorry but i have to say at least she phoned
when i had my old pony up for sale i had many who gave me a date and time to come and see and many didnt turn up many said there have her and didnt turn up not even a phone call
it was her petrol money she wasted on coming down to see it in the first stage of coming to see him.
she phoned you before you did a 4hr journey and wasting your petrol . unfortualy money issues can change

I actually think I composed myself rather well!!! Dear little man is only for sale because my daughter has a new horse and I can't keep him as well. One thing is for sure, she is the long term loser because ponies like this don't crop up everyday, so her loss is someone else's gain basically. It wasn't even a case of her apologising because of a financial disaster, I actually went out of my way for her because she had limited funds and she seemed to be able to offer him the perfect home!! Oh well, these things happen. . .

Are you in Cornwall by any chance?

I had a client describe that exact pony and delivery situation on the phone to me earlier today umming and ahhing! (don't blame me by the way. I didn't tell her what to do either way!)

Good lord!! yes I am. And I see you are from Hampshire, exactly where the said buyer lives!! such a shame because she seemed such a nice lady.

small world. She is lovely, but has had the worst run of luck recently.

I'm so sorry you've been messed around (I didn't know she'd agreed to buy him!). She'll feel really bad about it I promise!

Just think at least you didnt waste any more time taking him down or risking her selling him on in a months time if she couldnt afford to keep him. He sounds great im sure you will find a home soon for him.

This is very true. Worst thing is the people that saw him on sunday, knowing he was under offer, when told sale had fallen through, offered a ridiculous price that was laughable!! so basically it buggered up the next potential sale!! Thing is, had she been straight and honest, explaining her predicament, I'm sure we could have come to some agreement!!
