We’re considering buying property however the land is quite hilly, the last field is really steep and doesn’t flatten just stops at the fence. I’ve kept horses on steep land before but always flattened off at bottom. Just worried if my big sport hose decides to bust some moves he could end up in the fence 🙃

We only use our steep field in the summer as less chance for them to slip slide down the hill and trash the land/ themselves. It does have a flatish bit at the top though.
On another note we are in a bit of a suntrap area and with weather like this when there has been little rain, the long rested grass has started turning yellow/burnt off almost, before it's even been grazed.

Some of our fences divide a hill so only the bottom and top fields have flat areas. The middle field runs down to a fence. I've used post and electric wire with a 90kg breaking strain. Only once have I had one go through it on a non stop skid but it does happen (hence the breakable wire).

I wouldn't like to chance it with a boundary fence tbh. I'd say either track it so they can only go alongside it, or look elsewhere. I wouldn't be keen to divide it up so small they can't move about properly.
