The dogs are just about done with their time at the beach. July was the hottest on record and disgustingly humid to boot, but we're now in the 80s. Prince developed hot spots, while Stella continued her tradition of visiting the vet while on vacation (for a bruised shoulder). Cupcakes for those willing to trawl through the medley of pictures.

If you think we're walking in this heat...

Unexpectedly, Prince proved to be a competent swimmer. He also liked to pose, post-dip.

The sunshine brought out the Zoolander within:

Stella celebrated retaining her belt in the 20lb and under fetch division by, erm, fetching...

And hooning with Cousin Crow:

Cousin Tommy also visited:

He learnt to pose, too:

While Prince continued to model garden accessories:

But mostly Tommy and Prince brawled. In demonic fashion. Non-stop.

Stella gave Tommy a few fetch lessons.

And enjoyed claiming his rawhides and toys for her own personal use.

What beautiful pictures and some very happy dogs! Prince has really landed on his feet with you, what a little poser! I love Tommy :)

Have to ask though, are you glad you went for the prosthetic eye for Stella? I find it so unusual as when Tina was getting her eye removed it was never even mentioned, but perhaps over here it wouldn't be as common and I suppose with Tina being a working dog? Did it prolong the healing process at all? She looks fab as always :D Such a character!

I think so. It looks way more realistic in real life than it does in photos. The healing process was about the same. Within two weeks, she was back at the dog park. Stella's vet is one of the few doctors that performs the op, so it's by no means common over here.

LHS, I *wish* it was my place. We just rented it for part of the summer. It's currently on the market for the bargain sum of $4.5m, if you'd like to chip in a few pennies :D

Cousin Tommy is such a sweetie. He's seven-months-old and looks like a straight Lab/Saluki cross.
