Little Stells celebrated her fifth birthday this past weekend. We had a family tea party, complete with dog cake, balloons, and dear old Cousin Crow (who turns one this coming weekend).

Call me a loon, but I also treated Stella to canine shiatsu last week

The lady is predominantly an equine massage therapist, but she was fantastic. Really sorted out an old injury in Stella's shoulder, and obliterated a lot of stress in her little noggin from the eye injury.

What would a birthday be without her squeaky tennis ball?

Headshot. The vet reckons another two months before the redness in the middle completely goes. Doesn't bother her a jot any longer.

We've never bothered with birthday celebrations, but wanted to make a right old fuss of her this time round.

I had a wee bite of one of the canolis, but it tasted horrid. Wheat-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, and apparently taste-free. Stella wolfed hers down, though

You sure can. All sorts of plotting goes on in that smushy head.

Happy birthday Stella, what a party.

My animals ( horses and dog ) all have a regular Shiatsu treatment and love it, Its expensive but I just think its part of their maintenance.

We're definitely going to keep it up. She's such an active dog, always running hither and thither, that it makes sense for her to be treated like a pro athlete

Happy birthday Stella. Don't blame you for making her birthday a bit special this year. Still can't get over her false eye, it is incredible.

We actually ran into our first fellow prosthesis wearer at the weekend--a Choccy Lab who'd also developed secondary glaucoma, but because of a tumour. He was 13 and still in great shape, so it's good to know that a one-eyed life isn't such a terrible thing for a dog.
