How easy are they to use as my daughter wants something more elaborate than a lightening strike on her ponys bum this year? Have you used it to clip out an area, rather than leave it on as I am planning on giving him a blanket clip for the first clip pof hte season rather than all off.

Clipping in to clip around is much the same really. You take your time and follow the edge of the stencil.
Using a fine set of trimmers makes it much easier than a heavy set with a wide blade and trailing chord, but they are cheap enough.
The names on Jessie and Ebonys bums on my websites homepage was done by my daughter who was 15 at the time. I've no doubt that a 10 year old kid could clip them just as well with a bit of supervision !
