George is shod out the back a bit on his fronts as he has low heels, the problem is that he keeps stepping on his front shoes (at least the farrier is sure that's what he's doing). Last month both front shoes came loose, and this morning his front clenches had risen. He always wears overreach boots in and out, anything else I can do?

Well as Donkey is in the field with only 3 shoes on at the moment I should not be giving advise!!!! Pulled off in the gloopy July mud

My farrier 'feathers' the edges to stop pulling off, until now this had worked.

Have you seen those special over reach boots that go under the hoof, I cant remember the name but can try and find out. I have never used them but have heard good things about them!

We gave up shoeing my horse this way for exactly this reason. I love my farrier but I don't want to see him several times a week!!!

Having him shod every 4 weeks & using Fitzwygram shoes to keep the toe back seems to help him. The farrier shoes as long on the heel as he dares but ultimately we had to stop the damage he was doing pulling shoes.

Finally found them, sorry that took so long! They are made by Kavalkade and are called, SafetyBA Heel-Protectors. Another idea is to get your farrier to square off his hind feet abit or to put those shoes that are rolled at the front on his fronts to encourage him to pick up his front legs abit quicker. The other option is barefoot but not really practical in a lot of cases!

Thanks guys, George now has the new balance shoes so perhaps he could be shod a little shorter at the back, he's not yanking the shoes off just causing them to slip a bit so he's probably just catching them.
