yep me again love to post on forums.
I have a potential problem i am working at a yard part time covering the manager of the yard who basically runs things, when she goes to see her brother hunt.
so i do all the teaching on the days she is out or too busy.
now i have been told by many people that my teaching style is much better as i explain the reason behind doing certain things and people feel that they are stuck in a rut with her.
i am not too sure how to deal with this i have explained already that everyone teaches different styles but i have to be honest somethings she is teaching very differently like going jockey style for cantering???? strange and hanging off the horses mouth.
so far i have kept my head down as i love it but today i was asked if i could teach someone with there loan horse privately in another yard.
The person is also asking lots of questions about my teaching methods ie trotting poles and why i am doing sitting trot with the class.
what do i say to the people who want me to teach them on a regular basis?
i really don't want to hurt any feelings and i love the way it is now.
am i over thinking this?
what would you do?

The simple answer is that different people teach in different ways, just as people learn in different ways. While you might find that your students connect to your style, it is possible that others might prefer the style of the YO. If you say this to your students they will not smell any whiff of criticism of the YO in what you say, even if they do prefer your teaching methods.

Maybe ask the YO to meet with you to go over some lesson plans - just tell her you want to be sure you are both teaching to the same level and standard, then you have an opportunity to discuss different methods
